- 5th Alaska Virtual Conference on Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property Rights This is a periodic event organized by the students of CCS 602: Cultural and Intellectual Property Rights - in which interested students and professionals working in the field of cultural and intellectual property rights (CIPR) get together to share and discuss ideas, information, knowledge, and wisdom. Guests are welcome!
- Indigenous Oral Traditions and Research
An examination of contemporary research topics, themes, challenges and issues in Indigenous oral traditions. Includes a review of publications by Indigenous and non Indigenous scholars within the field. Will assist students with development of a theoretical and research methodological framework for documenting, examining, and authentically representing Indigenous oral traditions. - Writing for Publication
Emphasis on writing a literature review with strategies for effectively synthesizing literature into a thesis chapter and/or publication. Assists in defining the relationship of the literature review to other thesis chapters. Includes an examination of existing theses/literature reviews in Indigenous Studies, overview of the editorial and peer review process, and practice in giving and receiving feedback.
