  • This is a service project that was brought to the attention of the Festival of Native Arts (FNA) by past Alaska Native festival dancers. These dancers wanted to share past footage to their families and their local communities. This footage shows cultural dances and other cultural traditions from the past forty years of performing at FNA. The FNA Cultural Preservation Project focuses on collecting footage from around the city of Fairbanks and the state of Alaska and placing the footage into one online database. Those interested in learning about Alaska Native cultures can find all the dance footage in one location preserved and ready for academic and cultural use. It is important to give respect to our past and have it be part of our future and the FNA Cultural Preservation Project focuses on that and strives to become a sustainable resource for Alaska Native cultures.
