Grand Camp

Resolution #22-03

TITLE; Grand Camp reaffirms its long standing commitment to, and support for, a fully independent tribal college and the South East Alaska Tribal College (SEATC) Board of Trustees.

WHEREAS; the SEATC has been a work in progress to get formally established since the mid-1990s, and

WHEREAS; Grand Camp has consistently adopted resolutions supporting the establishment of SEATC since 1999, and

WHEREAS; in the fall of 2001 the SEATC was formally organized, now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Alaska Native Brotherhood and the Alaska Native Sisterhood convention in Ketchikan, Alaska on October 3, 2003 adopt this resolution and hereby reaffirms its long standing commitment to, and support for, a fully independent tribal college and the SEATC Board of Trustees

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THAT Grand Camp calls on all southeast Alaska Tribes, Tribal leaders, business leaders, Native people and supporters of Native education to ensure that the box of knowledge is fully shielded from political influence and patronage.
