Through the Eyes of a Fox
Hello!! My name is Rose. I'm a 16 year old fox that was born on October 10, 1976. I have a red body with a soft, bushy tail, a white face, white patched feet and my ears stick up when I hear anything that might be dangerous. I weigh about 15 pounds and I'm real quiet but friendly. I live on the tundra a little above the airport. Both my parents were killed by reckless hunters in the spring of 1991. I eat anything that is edible, but one thing I hate are raw potatoes.

I go out hunting every day, but sometimes I don't catch a thing. So, out of desperation I walk over to the dump and look for leftovers that the humans throw away. Sometimes these ugly ravens always bother me by flying real low, and when I think I'm going to get one, they fly high into the sky.

Once or twice a week my aunt and uncle will come by and check how I'm doing. They usually bring me something to eat, which is usually raw meat, but it's better than nothing, just as long as I have something to eat.

One sunny day I was trotting down the road on my way to the dump minding my own business when all of a sudden I heard a loud motor right behind me. I quickly turned around and saw a reckless driver hauling xxx right behind me. I was so frightened that I ran off the road and rolled into the bottom of the dump. Above me I heard those darn ravens making noises as if they were laughing at me, and I bet they were. When I looked up, from beyond the trash I saw that reckless driver looking down at me and cursing away like it was the end of the world. I was wishing he would fall to the bottom of the dump, so I could attack him. But, no, he probably would have shot me, and I did want to live to tell my side of the story.
