A Lucky Catch

"Nicholas, and John Thomas and I went up to Big Bend below Holy Cross to do some moose hunting for the weekend. When we got there we pitched our tent, then we went and checked out some nearby meadows. When we got to this one meadow we saw three cows, so we left and went farther up Big Bend. In one of the meadows up there we saw another moose. We thought at first it was a cow, but it turned out to be a bull moose. So we shot at it a few times until it fell. Then we skinned and dressed out the moose. After loading the meat in the boat, we came home. Then we put it all away in the freezer for the winter."
