FLOCK OF SWANS

I was walking last summer and
saw a flock of swans
landing in a pond ahead of me.

I sat down
and watched them swim around the pond
dipping their heads
into the water.

In a little while
I heard a gun
shot!
that frightened the swans and thay flew and
landed
far away on the ocean
far away from the hunters' terrible
cannons.
