Our
collection of Alaska clipart was birthed out of the frustration
of Alan Dick, ANKN's Village Science coordinator, when he attempted
to write
science books for Alaskan villages. Alan found that clipart existed
in abundance for other situations, but little existed for Alaska,
particularly
the bush. He spent many hours collecting, reviewing, and fine-tuning
the art to meet the needs of Alaskans, particularly teachers and
students
in Alaska's schools. This
royalty-free collection is a work-in-progress. We welcome others
to submit their
art to the collection. Simply contact the Alaska
Native Knowledge Network for
more information. You can credit the artwork by using wording
such as "clipart provided by the Alaska Native Knowledge Network,
www.ankn.uaf.edu".We
have chosen to provide the art as 300 dpi GIF files which are
cross-platform
(PC and Mac) and are recognized by most of the word processing
and layout programs as well as web authoring software. If you
plan to use the art
on a web page, we suggest you open it in a graphic program such
as Adobe Photoshop and reduce to 72 or 96 dpi.Click
below to download a pdf file of the clipart catalog. This will
give you a view of all the art in each collection and allow you
to choose
that art which suits your needs.
