Donna's Vacation Down
States
Donna Best went to New Jersey,
Philadelpia, New York and Massachusetts
during her 3 week vacation. She drove to Philadelpia and
Massachusetts and rode a bus to New
York.
First, Donna went to New Jersey to
visit her parents and friends. On New Year's Eve she went to "First
Night Red Bank." She said it's like a carnival.
While she was in New Jersey there was
a big snow storm which they called "The Blizzard of '96." It was the
biggest snow storm since 1947. The government had to close the state
down. People couldn't drive around in the storm. All the big grocery
stores ran out of bread, eggs, and milk. Three days after the storm
she had to dig out her car.
Then Donna went to Philadelpia for a
Mystery Theater dinner with her friends.
After that she went to New York by
bus because there was too much traffic to drive and also because
parking her car would cost about 10 or 15 dollars. She also went to
New York to watch a play on Broadway called "How to Succeed in
Business." John Stamos from Full House was the star in the
play.
On her last trip she went to
Massachusetts to visit her brother, John Best, and his
family.
