My Summertime Vacation

What was my summer like this year? Well, it was way better than last summer. There are a lot of reasons why I think it was better: I worked at the Yukon Delta Fish Marketing co-op, Inc., babysat for my baby sister and my younger cousins, got a lot of letters which I read and wrote back to the people that wrote to me, read my books over and over again, thought of my friends from M.E.H.S., and stayed out as late as I wanted to.

When I was working at the Fish Marketing co-op, I especially had a lot of fun. At first I was sliming fish but then my boss put me into the glazing area where I had to make boxes. Then I switched to writing numbers on the top of the boxes. While I was there I got most of my clothes marked with black ink.

When I was babysitting my sister we cleaned up our house and rode around on our bikes. But when I babysat my younger cousins I had to change diapers and feed them and play toys with them.

I read all my books over again because I didn't buy any new ones. But I still had fun reading them.

This summer I got a lot of letters from a lot of people, which made me really happy. It was really good to hear what they were doing in their hometowns, which made me wish that I was with them. But I stayed home and had more fun.

Last summer I had a curfew but this summer I got to stay out as late as I wanted too. My parents told me if I got into trouble I should come home and tell them what I did. But I hardly ever did get into trouble.

A couple of my friends from Edgecumbe came down to Emmonak which made me even happier. I stayed with them everyday except when I had to work. When they left Emmonak I really missed them.

Well you can see that I had a very exciting summer. I wish that summers would never end though.
