Fifth Annual Communicating Ocean Science Workshop & SEANET Luncheon Meeting - 12.07.2010

Registration is required for this half-day workshop on January 17 that kicks off the Alaska Marine Science Symposium in Anchorage. Agenda (PDF, 129 KB) Register by sending an email to msigman at alaska.edu.

This year's workshop features "how to" session for scientists to do more effective outreach and education through the media and in Alaskan coastal communities and rural schools. Nancy Baron of the Communication Partnership for Science and the Sea (COMPASS) is a featured speaker on the risks and rewards of science communication. The SEANET Luncheon meeting will involve planning for the 2012 National Marine Educators Association conference to be held in Anchorage.
