Alaska Tribal Court Conference

Hello !!   It’s that time of year again to get out the information about the annual Alaska Tribal Court Conference being held this year at the Westmark Hotel, August 7 - 9 in Fairbanks. We have some exciting presenters this year including Stephen Pevar, the author of the Rights of Indians and Tribes.  Contact Lisa Jaeger for information and registration forms and applications for scholarships. The National Judicial College is providing up to 50, $700 scholarships to help with travel and per diem costs (provided from the Bureau of Justice Assistance once they approve the event.)

Would appreciate it if you would send this information to anyone you think would be interested in attending. Everyone is welcome to attend, particularly tribal court judges and clerks, tribal council members, tribal staff, and anyone who works with Alaska tribal courts. Please send in registrations to us at Tanana Chiefs Conference, and send the scholarship applications to Christine Folsom-Smith at the National Judicial College.  

Book hotel rooms as soon as you can because they fill up that week due to the Tanana Valley Fair.  Look forward to seeing people at the Conference this August and good luck with all your efforts in tribal court development!!
