"Rather than outline the entire historical development of education in Alaska, this paper will focus on developments since the Conference on the Future of Alaska, held in 1969. As can be seen in the reports of the four seminars held as part of that conference, education emerged as one of the top, if not the top, priority concerns, and each of the four groups (Alpha, beta, Gamma and Delta) urged greater state effort and expenditure in this area."
