OLD CHANNEL is a collection of stories and photographs done by students of the Iditarod Area School District in 1983-1984. They visited the people (mainly elders) in their villages to interview to to photograph the. Back in school the students wrote stories from the tape recordings and impressions of the interviews, and developed and printed the pictures. The school district funded the project as a learning experience to practice language arts skills, listening, interviewing, image making, writing and reading. It is based on the Foxfire project.
