The essays contained in this book were originally written as radio talks and were broadcase over the Northern Service of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation under the title "As a Matter of Fact" and were produced by Mrs. Maja van Steensel-James in co-operation with the Montreal office of the Arctic Institute of North America. "Here are scientists, philosophers, explorers, botanists, geologists, archaeologists- and people whose study is people". Included are maps and many photographs.
