In 1902 Comock led his starving family across the sea ice to an island rumored to be rich in game. This is the ten year survival story told by Comock to filmaker, Robert Flaherty. Many years later the filmaker wrote it down and collaborated with another filmaker, Edmund Carpenter creating a visually stunning book of Eskimo sketches and stirring story.

Robert Flaherty was the Producer of the film- NANOOK OF THE NORTH.
