This is the story of the first Cooperatives in Northern Canada. "Twenty years ago almost all Inuit were on some kilnd of welfare. Today, besides producing the lucrative art prints, carvings, handicrafts, clothing... , the Inuit coops build houses and boats, run fisheries, tourist camps, hotels, lodges, coffee shops, provide all kinds of municipal services such as sewage, water supply and fuel distributorships, have own retail stores, they own a DC-4 aircraft leased to a charter airline, music recordings, film and video productions and more."
