Peter Freuchen had long planned a book to include in chronological sequence all of his experiences in the Arctic, but death came in 1957 and the book was not completed. His Danish wife, Dagmar, decided to finish it for him. Here are the stories of "incredible hardships and incredible loyalty and bravery of his Eskimo companions".
