During the period 18984 through 1912 Russell W. Porter accompanied ten arctic expeditions, on which he served as artist, surveyor and cartographer, scientist and astronomer. H is diary, journal notes, photographs and numerous pencil sketches, watercolor and oil paintings, pastel sketches and pen and ink drawings of the Arctic have been reproduced in this beautiful book.
