This scholarly anthropological study of contemporary material culture ( propane stoves, snowmachines, washing machines, motorboats etc.) in three Aleutian villages- Unalaska, Nikolski and Akutan concludes that contemporary Aleut material culture has limited value as an index of Aleut social and political organization and Aleut work norms and behavior.
