Alaskans
Referenced by: Alaska Yukon Library

Grade Level(s): 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

Theme(s): Living in Place, Tribe/Community

This book's title is a bit misleading because while it does tell the reader where to go camping, sporfishing, kayaking, river running and hiking in the Alaska wilderness it also gives detailed descriptions of more than 250 Alaska towns and bush villages. Compiled with the same thoroughness as THE MILEPOST information on each community includes location, transportation on how to get there, population, zip codes, Emergency services, elevation, climate, private aircraft availability and airport facilities and transportation to town., visitor facilities, churches, villager corporation address and phone, and local history.. This is a very useful book.
