Fae Korsmo has written a scholarly overview of ANCSA and the after effects concentrating here on the 1991 Ammendments. "Congress had no intention of keeping the land in Native hands. Unlike most settlements of claims to aboriginal title, ANCSA conveyed ownership in fee simple to for-profit corporations, with Native control of the corporations and land guaranteed for only twenty years......."
