"Children are a dominent feature of all north Alaskan Eskimo communities, both in number and in respect to the attention given them by their elders. The Eskimo child is considered a vital part of the family and enjoys much love and affection, both both parents. Eskimo men are gentler and more demonstrative than a father in Western society."
