This is a facsimile reprint, now in one volume, of two popular and long out of print books, John Dunn's Practical Dictionary and Reference Grammar of Coast Tsimshian, first published by the National Museums of Canada in 1978 and 1979 as No. 42 and 55 of their Canadian Ethnology Service Paper series. With the collaboration of the author and the permission of the original publisher, we are happy to make these valuable books available again. The 1995 edition includes revisions and a new preface by the author. The orthography used in the Dictionary and Grammar has been officially adopted by Tsimshian language teachers and materials developers in Canada. Dramatic totemic cover art by Jack Hudson of Metlakatla.
