INTRODUCTION

A language experience story or chart is the written formof childrens thoughts abvouty something they have seen, heard, felt, or done. The effective use of language experience activities weill strengthen all of the many skills involved in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Writing Language Experiences was produced as a resource book for both First Language Teachers and E.S.L. Teachers in the PEP(Primary Eskimo Program) bilingual program. Many of the ideas given were gathered from teachers in the villages. It is hoped that they will add variety and interest ot use of experience stories and charts in the classroom. Produced by: Helen Nicori and Martha Jack with illustrations by Teri Sloat. Betty Huffmon, director of Bilingual Bicultural Program for Lower Kuskokwim School District.
