"The language of ANCSA, notes the authors, is frequently ambiguous, and some difficulties have arisen in its implementation. This article identifies those major legal problems, suggests possible answers, and discusses if the Act's provisions allow the Natives a resonable chance of success in fulfilling the Act. The article outlines the key provisions of ANCSA. Then problems with certain significant provisions are discussed, including village eligibility, boundary disputes with regional corporations, tax consequences, applicability of federal securities laws, and land selections by native corporations and the retention of public use easements. This article states that ANCSA is a unique solution to the problems of natives; however lack of support from federal agencies and divisiveness among Native makes a final settlement still yet to come."1
