The New Pacific is published for general circulation by The New Pacific Publishing Association, a nonprofit organization based in Seattle and created to produce a serious quarterly journal of public and cultural affairs for the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. The journal serves as a vehicle for public discussion of, and public education about, matters of common interest to the citizens of a region whose major urban centers include Portland, Oregon; Seattle-Tacoma, Washington; and Vancouver-Victoria, British Columbia.
