"The Tlingit Indians are located in the Southeastern section of Alaska from Yakutat Bay to Prince of Wales Island or approximately sixty degrees to fifty-five degrees north latitude. The Tlingits are divided into totemic divisions and although the Haidas were considered the foremost of the totemis people, totemism and totem poles exist in both people."
