"In keeping with the general theme of this writer's course, 'Behavior in the North,' one particular area will be pursued, that of suicide. The opening scenario was intended to assist in a theory regarding suicide, that: Suicide is likely to occur in climates where it is cold, dark and relatively isolated. Plausible as the assumption may sound, it did not take this writer long to find through various sources that there is little truth to it. At least these factors alone do not cause suicide; however, they may contribute in some way to the act."
