Detailed Description
Description of Activities:
Take field trips to identify plants. The student will know the names, pronunciations. The students do research and make a booklet. The students will write names of plants. The students write reports and explain their uses.

Procedures: Introduce plants; list words in alphabetical order; choose five plants and write names in Yup'ik and English; Press, label, and laminate collected plants; Identify edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants.
Homework - Have students ask parents or community members about plants and their medicinal uses. Compile a vocabulary list, pronounce names of plants (Yup'ik and English). Write a report on research done on plants.
