Detailed Description
1. Students will learn about how festivals are celebrated around the world, in the modern Yup'ik way, and contrast the celebrations with traditional Yup'ik Culture.
2. Compare western festivals with Yup'ik celebrations such as the Bladder Festival and other Potlatches of the past.
3. Go to the community and ask questions. Write a report about what was learned. Present reports orally to the class.
4. Children bring their share food from home and celebrate a feast (this helps them to practice in sharing).
