Detailed Description
The resource person will demonstrate making traditional story knife out of wood or metal strapping for freight boxes.
Have the story teller tell a story with the story knife on a cardboard with soil spread flat and smoothed out. Have the students listen to the story and discuss story with the story teller. Students will develop own story and share with other students.
The students will learn how to use the story knife, the characters symbols and make up their own short stories in sequence.
Listening and speaking skills is important in this lesson.
Tell one or two traditional stories with a story knife.
Point out main characters of story orally
Make up own stories on their own with story knife.
