Detailed Description
A guest speaker is invited to make a presentation to the class on an informative topic. After listening to the presentation, each student writes a thank-you letter to the speaker. Letters should be in proper letter format and must include:
1. An appropriate message thanking speaker for his/her time.
2. A one-paragraph summary of what student learned from the presentation, including the main ideas and important details.
Student analyzes first draft of letter using rubric for this assessment, makes suggestions for improvements, and writes final draft based on self-evaluation. [All thank-you letters could be sent to the speaker.]
