Each community had leader s who gave direction to people , these distinguished elders will be identified and be researched by the students and teachers with the elders in the community and resource people who are knowledgable of the history of each village. The historical figures will be recognized for their special tiies, whether it be in the field of leadership, health, education, and many other talents. This will be an exciting time to do a research and to recognize the geneology of the families that made a difference in the history of the Yupik people.
