Detailed Description
1. Bring resource person in to name the land marks within our local area.
2. Ask why that name was given.
3. Students will take notes while person is talking.
4. Be able to name local Yup'ik places.
5. Find locations of their native allotments.
6. Learn the traditional and modern hunting land marks.
7. Student will know the position of land marks.
8. Students need to know the complete compass rose and a combination of landmarks, Yupiit sense of direction as well as the compass.

Description of Activities:
1. Write vocabulary word list in Yup'ik and English
2. Make a map of our area.
3. Research stories from local people, men, elders, and hunters.
