Once a couple of moons ago there were eiqht of us who were going on a boat ride to "Kwik", a slough located about 15 miles upriver from Marshall. Fred was driving, and we were going pretty slowly in the narrow slough. Everybody was very quiet and we were just looking around when suddenly Victor saw what he thought was a Black bear in the trees. Freddy immediately stopped the boat so we could take a look at it. At first Freddy didn't know it was a Black bear and thought it was a porcupine.

While we were looking around for the Black, a qrizzly bear came out of the wood. Then M.J., Sophie and Liz got really scared. Victor was so scared he began to shoot it with a .22 rifle, and Kat shot it with his big rifle. We were so scared that we just left the bear dead and we took off in the boat. Boy were we scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
