Once upon a time there lived a little bumble bee. His nickname was chickadee. He lived in a big cottonwood tree, with his big family. His family lived very far away from a little town called Marshall.

Sometimes people came around and had picnics near the tree. But our family of bees don't like people coming around. So one day when a man came near our tree all of us bees chased him away.

When we bees are left alone we play all kinds of games. During the summer we also work hard sucking nectar from all the wonderful flowers. Then we save the honey inside our cottonwood tree for our winter sleep. In the long winter we sleep in the tree in our warm nest of fur from little animals. That way we are warm all winter. Sometimes we wake up and eat the honey that we saved during the summer.
