:

One day my grandma Zena wanted to go up to Kwik to check out the berries. My dad offered to take the whole family up there for an outing. Since it was a beautiful clear sun-shiny day, Scott and LaVerne got to go. LaVerne was the baby and Scott was just a year old.

As we were going along Grandma spotted a Black bear by the bluffs below Kwik. She wanted my dad to hunt it as she and grandpa both were fond of Black bear meat. But my dad did not have the likings for bear meat at the time and left it be. My grandmother tried to convince him to shoot it, but my dad still refused.

By then we couldn't see the bear anymore, and Grandma didn't get her bear meat.
