Snoopy by James Oney:James Oney English
Snoopy
In the Spring of 1921, Robert Flounder sent a letter to the Government asking if he could do some research on wolves near the Great Lakes . Robert waited for the letter from the Government Finally after five days a letter came back. It said that he had to pay one hundred dollars a month for a permit to stay as long as he wanted. The next day Robert got ready to hike up to the mountains located about seventy miles from the Great Lakes. He went part of the way by truck and then walked the rest of the way . After walking a few miles he saw some wolves and followed them to their den where the rest of the pack was . Robert set his tent up not too far from the wolves, so he could hear them and see them. He then began watching the wolves and studying what they were doing, and he wrote his observations down. One day while Robert was sleeping, one of the wolves went into his supply tent and started to dig into his bags. When Robert got up he looked out and saw his stuff all over the place. The wolf was also tearing his pants to bits and pieces . When the wolf was done he looked at Robert and whined . Then Robert slowly walked up to him and pet him. After a while Robert named him Snoopy because he liked to snoop around his things so much.
