When I was Young

Then I was small I never used to go hunting alone. I only went seal hunting with my dad and my uncle. This was along long time ago. Since I haven't forgotten, I'm going to tell you about how I used to go hunting.
When I went seal hunting I used to go with others. And in the summer time when we caught any seals we'd bring them home to our mothers who would cut them up with their knives. Instead of eating the meat right away they hung strips of meat up and let them dry. When they won't dry any more because of the wet weather in September and October they start freezing the seal meat in their underground freezers,

It seems they don't catch seals as much nowadays since we are living more like white men and are starting to buy our foods from stores.

During past winters I used. to go out to the edge of the ice pack and hunt on the open water. Sometimes I would get stuck way out in the ocean because of the floating ice and I would have to pull my boat us on the ice.

I have had to leave boat one or two times on the ice pack when coming back home because there was too much slush ice on the river, hut when the weather was nice we used to hunt and catch food around here on the ocean. And when we caught anything we then put it in the freezers or did other things to it to make it very tasty. And that's how I used to go hunting when I was young.
