A Trip To Black River

Last summer my dad and 1 decided to take a boat ride over to Black river. When we were all ready to go and we had everything we needed in the boat, we waved our goodbyes to our friends.

We were aways out of the villege when we saw a big walrus. My dad started to get his gun to shoot the walrus but the walrus dived and disappeared. We waited about 15 minutes for it to appear again, and when it came up he took his gun and aimed and shot at it. He took a few more shots then I grabbed some rope and we drove towards it slowly. We then tied up the walrus to the boat and headed for Black river. As we were nearing Black River, the boat started shaking. I stayed put for awhile but suddenly something hard slammed and hit the boat and I flew out of the boat. As I flew out of the boat, I saw that the walrus was still alive and was trying to yank himself free. When I landed on the water I yelled to my dad that he was still alive, so he took his gun and shot it a few more times. When I got back into the boat and sat down, my dad said that the walrus was dead now and that I should put some dry clothes on before I froze. So I just put a bid coat over me and we continued our trip to Black River. When we got to Black River we told the people who were there what had happened. Then we shared all the meat and were happy that we were safe. From then on we were more careful with everything we hunted, especially walrus that were supposed to be dead weren't.
