Martha Evan's Summer

Martha Evan had a great summer. She went for short boat rides, picked berries, played Bingo, cut fish, and visited different villages.

She is satisfied with the amount of fish that Fran, Norma, Paulina and herself cut during the long but short summer. But she hopes that they cut enough strips for the whole winter because her grandchildren like to eat strips.

She went "punking" at Anam Duk'fea with Garrett, Norma, Anthony, Fran and Greg. She'll use the punk they found to chew with her Black Bull tobacco. She is still disappointed at Greg because he stepped on some duck eggs that her black dog found.

She enjoyed her summer even more because her grandson Uppa Boy (Anthony Nick Jr.) visited her for the whole summer and helped out with subsistence fishing and many other things.

She is thankful that she never got sick during the summer, and she looks forward to the upcoming summer. She will be 82 next summer.
