Annie's Potato Patch

Annie and Larry Hunter went to her mom's fish camp in June to help cut fish. They stayed at fish camp for six whole weeks working on fish and going out picking salmon berries. While they were at camp, she and her niece planted potatoes near the beach on the sand and built a fence around them. Annie and her niece had fun planting these potatoes. "And we might harvest the potatoes before freeze up," Annie says.

While at camp, Larry, Annie, her mom, auntie, and two granddaughters went out camping for two nights. During the day they would go out picking salmon berries, and Annie picked three buckets of them for the long winter ahead. She is planning to make salmon berry jam over the winter since Larry likes it so much.

They also went rodding with Eskie, Darin and Crystal by the mouth of Kuyukutuk where Crystal caught two Sheefish with a small white hook but lost the hook on the third cast. Eskie and Darin also caught a tot of pike. They stayed at Kuyukutuk till midnight.

The last place they went was 0l' Landing to pick fresh blue berries. They made three trips but the first two trips it rained, so they stayed only for a short while then. On the last one, though, they got plenty.
