Andy's Blueberry Summer

"I commercial fished with Tim up at Ingrihak in June. I also subsistence fished for my mom when commercial fishing wasn't open. Jon and I cleaned fish for her also. We worked as a team. My sisters also pitched in by doing whatever they could do. I was thankful for the fish for this winter. I also volunteered for both the Catholic and Orthodox churches this summer and to help get Ohogamiut ready for the youths of Marshall. I always had time to help in both churches. I enjoyed working there. It was a lot of fun.

I didn't go rodding for fish although I went a few times and watched people rod. A couple weeks ago I started picking blue berries about a mile behind Marshall. Boy, there were a lot of blue berries there! Some of the ripe ones were as big as commercial berries. I didn't want to show people where my batch was. I really enjoyed my summer even though it went by really fast. Hopefully I can now start a refreshing year.
