Two Engine Fury

One day I was feeling bored so I asked Greg and Upa-Boy if they wanted to go bear hunting with my little boat. After we got ready we went to the beach and just as we were about to leave we saw my uncle's 9.9 h.p. lieing around. My boat already had a 15 horse and a 6 horse but we wanted to go faster so we asked my uncle if we could use it. After we slapped it on we took off. We also brought the 6 horse along just in case. Our first stop was inside the first little sough inside Owl slough. After going in as fast and far as we could we stopped and looked around then decided to go upriver. After hitting a fish with the 15 horse and having problems with the 9.9, we were on the river again. I decided to check out a place across from lngrhak because people had always talked about it. After hitting another fish and a couple sandbars we finally reached Kwik. Our two engines going together were so loud we had to shout to hear one another. While entering Kwik I noticed something black on the bank that I'd never seen there before. I pointed at it and the boys saw it too. As we got closer we saw that it was a black bear. I grabbed my gun and went to the middle of the boat and forgot the engine, and Greg who was driving the other engine grabbed his gun and stood beside me. Just as I was about to shoot it, though, it disappeared. I told Greg to drive the boat up to the beach. The other boys then walked through the trees to the little clearing while I walked around the trees. We met on the other side but there was no sign of the bear so I went back to get the boat to pick them up. When I was driving over to them another boat came from the slough and stopped by us. It was J.B., Matthew and Everet. They stopped and talked for a while then took off. We went upstream a ways then back out and waited to see if the bear would come around. But no luck, so we headed home. I was thinking of putting the 6 horse on but got lazy. The other boys were waiting for us at Richard Oney's fish camp. We stopped for a while and b.s.'d with each other, then we raced home even though we knew they'd blow us away with their faster boat.
