My MFP-SYEPT Summer

This summer was kind of fun because I worked at the M.F.P. We worked all night during some fishing openings. After all the fisherman were done delivering their fish, the tender boats would come over and we would load them with fish. After being loaded, the tender took the fish down river to the Boreal Fish Plant. The trip down would take at least 12 hours. After delivering the fish we washed out the boat and then went back up river to Marshall. Each person would take turns driving the boat while the others would sleep. Sometimes it was boring because it was such a long trip. The other workers who worked with me were Fred, Joe-joe, Upa boy and Sophie Ann. I had a lot of fun with them because we talked and cracked jokes all night. But some work days would be boring because I was the only person working there.

After working at M.F.P., I worked with the SYEPT program a few weeks later. There were eight of us working in the program. We worked for two weeks building the clinic addition with Nick Fitka and Danny Myres. Victor worked with us on the floor. Then we worked on the walls and the windows and door. Then Joe-joe, Porky, Victor, Jackie, David and Everrett helped put the walls up. After that we went to the airport road and sawed some trees down so the trucks could see if there was any other traffic coming toward them. This summer was fun for me because I worked all summer long.
