Kathy Peteroff's Summer Tale

Kathy Peteroff didn't have much she really had to do this summer, she said. But she did get some important things done over the summer, like cutting and drying fish for use in the winter. She started cutting fish in June. Ben and David would go out subsistence fishing, and they would bring the fish up to the smoke house and she would cut them up. Then she had them help her hang the fish. Once she also had Fran Evan help her cut fish.

She also traveled up to Russian Mission a few times to visit her daughter who lives up there. She didn't do much during the Fourth of July. She just watched the activities that went on and ate outside at the picnic. Then during the evening she went to the fiddle dance at the community center. Kathy also went out blueberry picking with her other family members up at Kuik.
