Almost every day my mom was at fish camp cutting fish to store during the winter. Her nephews went with her, and my dad and her nephews liked it there. When she came back from fish camp she volunteered to be a supervisor for the Summer Youth Educational Training Program (S.Y.E.T.P.). which was sponsored by the AVCP. The program lasted for three weeks with only four students who were: Angela Kameroff, Marie Papp, Robert Pitka, and Tanya Peter.

Besides supervising and staying in Marshall, she went berry picking with her husband Joseph, Nora Tikiun, Anna Polty and Paul Polty across from Pilot Station. She stayed there for about three days picking salmon berries.

She also went to Unalakleet, for the Kuigpagmuit Traditional Council meeting which lasted four days. While she was there, she went rod and reeling and caught many humpies, although she only brought home two females. When she came back from Unalakleet she went back up to fish camp to cut fall chums with my gram.

Her summer was great in spite of all the bad weather we had.
