My Auntie's Summer

My aunt Vivian Teganlakla thought of her summer as the same as any other summer she had. She also thought of it as any other woman's typical summer.

Vivian went fishing for commercial and subsistence salmon. She also harvested the fish, cutting and drying them in Angeline's smoke house. She commented, "One thing I hated was gutting the fish."

When she went salmon berry picking, she picked five gallons of salmon berries. But she had to split the berries with three other people because they babysat her kids. She said "I've got to go pick black and red berries pretty soon."

Vivian also did some fun things over the summer. She went to the sand bar with her kids( Bubb,Glenn and Jared) and Paul. Her kids had fun swimming and playing in the sand. She also had a picnic on the other side of the sand bar. She commented, "It was a fun trip with the family."

Vivian finished by saying that, "My summer was no different from the summers I've had in the last few years, it was the usual summer any person would have here."
