CECILIA COFFEE'S SUMMER

Cecilia worked in the Co-op store, cut fish, and picked berries.

She said, "When I got tired of working in the store I would cut fish. I was real busy with the fish because when you take care of them you have to smoke them and keep checking to see that the fire does not go out. After the fish are dry you need to put them away. After I put them away I would cut some more fish and then keep an eye on them."

"When the days were good I would go pick berries. Sometimes I went by boat. Other times I would walk back here behind town and pick."

When she got tired of cutting fish or picking berries she would go back to workat the Co-op and then the whole cycle would start all over again.
