My Mom's Summer Vac.

During the summer my mom went camping with her family. While she was at camp she cut fish, helped clean the tents, hand-washed the clothes, made fire in the smoke house, and many other things. She also went downriver to go shopping. Then she came back up to Marshall with her family.

She stayed at camp for maybe one month and a half. Then when the dryfish and strips were all done she packed her stuff and went to Marshall with her family.

Here at Marshall she picked blue and blackberries for the winter, and she also babysat Richard and Nancy Oney's two little girls. After work or during the weekdays she and a couple older women would go pick berries up on the tundra or by boat if someone brought them. If she didn't pick berries, she stayed home and did house work.
